That’s Entertainment has a big selection of new, recent, and vintage sports cards. We carry the newest hobby boxes of Baseball, Football, Hockey and Basketball. We offer a 10% discount on the purchase of two or more sealed/new sport card boxes. At That’s Entertainment we never open packs, so those who shop with us can be certain that all the good cards are available to them.
We also have a nice selection of sport card singles: everyone from Mickey Mantle, Larry Bird, Bobby Orr, and Joe Montana to Andrew Luck, Tom Brady, Lebron James, and Mike Trout.
That’s Entertainment sells autographed memorabilia, including: photos, framed and unframed, balls, pucks, boxing gloves, jerseys, etc… We tend to stock mostly current and former members of the Bruins, Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics; but also have autographed items from other entertainment celebrities. Some of these include: Hulk Hogan, Carrie Fisher, Bettie Page and Adam West.

Moment #40: We take the auction outside!![]()

Our popular No-Minimum-Bid auctions were a LOT of fun back in the 1980s! I was determined to have REAL auctions, with NO minimum starting bids and NO reserves. It's more exciting that way, because you really could get an incredible deal! Remember, the Chandler Street store was pretty small, so our FIRST auction was actually held OUTDOORS in the vacant lot BEHIND our store! We sold hundreds of vintage collectibles to the crowd of customers who all braved the heat outside. As an auctioneer, I always kept it moving as fast as I could, a-lot-a-minute on average-- if you weren't interested in the item I was holding, you wouldn't have to wait long for the next one! For our next several auctions, we moved to The Yankee Drummer Inn in Auburn, Massachusetts so that all of our bidders would be far more comfortable. The last few were held in the Red Room at the Park Avenue store. But it would be tough to top the memory of that FIRST one held outside!![]()

Moment #41: Neil Gaiman visits us in 1989!![]()
Neil Gaiman was a barely-known comic book author when DC Comics began publishing his "Sandman" series back in the late 1980s. We at That's Entertainment really enjoyed Sandman, and our "inside connections" at DC Comics offered to send Neil to our store as a guest. It was one of Neil's EARLIEST USA comic shop appearances! He came to our store in 1989, just as Sandman issue #8 (the acclaimed first appearance of Death) was released. DC Comics, realizing they had a winner, had offered comic shops around the country a great deal: for every copy of the comic ordered, we'd get another copy at no charge! In anticipation of Gaiman's appearance, we had ordered TWICE the number of copies as we normally would. Even though this meant we would now have FOUR TIMES the usual amount of Sandman available, a big and enthusiastic crowd turned out to meet Mr. Gaiman and we sold EVERY copy! So... if you see copies of Sandman # 8 around the Worcester area, be sure to check to see if they are autographed by Neil Gaiman!![]()
