David Thorn Wenzel is best known for his visualization of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, illustrated in graphic novel format. Recently revised and expanded, the new edition of this world-recognized graphic novel is reaching a new generation of Tolkien fans. Wenzel has added over forty new pieces of art, plus an extensive review of his creative process and insights into illustrating Middle Earth. Included are many new images from the Hobbit. This new edition is friendly to young readers. The graphic novel has been in print continuously since its release in the 90s, as it has gone through several different printings, and now for the first time, it is in hard cover. David has also illustrated other comics for Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, IDW and Image, including The Wizard’s Tale, a fully painted graphic novel by writer Kurt Busiek, based on a painting by Wenzel. IDW published Wenzel’s Kingdom of the Dwarfs, a richly illustrated book about an archeological find that brings to life many themes associated with the dwarves of Tolkien’s Middle Earth. Wenzel has also illustrated many children’s books, including Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, Little Bear, A Hat for Ivan, Johnny Appleseed and the Bear, and The King of Little Things.
Below is a list of the one-shot adventures which will be held in the store’s Great Hall. Register to play in a one-shot adventure! Pre-registration is required.
